Mobile app overview
The Transpira mobile app (iOS and Android) is a field tool — a driver runs their entire driving day from it, and a technician works the service-order queue from it. It signs in with the same account as the web console and the same organization, but its screens are built for one-handed use and short sessions next to a vehicle, not a desk.
Who it's for
A driver uses the app every day: vehicle inspections, duty status, the route, fuel capture, and messages from the dispatcher. A technician uses the work-order section — self-assignment, repair lifecycle actions, and labour/part lines. Whether the technician section is visible depends on the roles granted on the active membership (see Roles and permissions); every other operational role works in the web console only.
Sign-in and choosing an organization
Sign-in goes through Firebase — the same account used in the web console. After signing in, the app fetches your memberships and picks the active organization for you — the previous choice, if it's still valid, otherwise the first of your active organizations — with no confirmation prompt. You can change it later yourself with the switcher in the top bar. The active organization is remembered between sessions; changing it refreshes the app's data — vehicles, routes, work orders, and duty clocks — so the previous organization's data is never left showing.
Offline mode
The app is built to work without a steady signal: a form filled out in the field (an inspection, a status change, a fuel capture, a message) is saved locally right away and reaches the server automatically once connectivity returns. Dashboard and tiles
Once an organization is selected, the app shows a dashboard with tiles grouped into a driver section (DVIR inspections, the pre-trip gate, fuel capture, route of day, dispatcher messages, duty status) and — for eligible users — a technician section (the work-order queue). The top bar shows the organization switcher, a count of actions still waiting to sync, and a banner that flags offline mode or actions that failed to sync.
Push notifications
The app registers the device for push notifications and shows them both in the foreground and in the background. Tapping a notification opens the right screen directly — for example the dispatcher message thread, the route of day, a work order's detail, the work-order queue on a maintenance alert, the inspection list on a missing DVIR, or the duty-status clocks on an HOS alert.
