Insurance & risk
The insurance module controls what fleet data reaches insurers, and turns your safety and compliance history into a computable risk score. Insurers price their offers off that score, and when an incident happens the team can assemble a complete evidence bundle for the claims adjuster in a few clicks.
Who it's for
The finance controller, fleet manager and organization administrator grant and revoke data-sharing consent, and can manually request an immediate risk-score publication. The same users, plus the executive (read-only), see the consent ledger, the risk score and incoming offers. Claim packages are built by the safety manager, fleet manager or organization administrator.
Data-sharing consent
No fleet data reaches an insurer without an explicit consent — there's no "share by default." You grant consent to one insurer at a time, picked from a closed list of registered partners (never free text), and choose which data categories it can receive: risk score, telematics data, or safety events (you can select more than one). Only one consent can be active per insurer at a time — to change the scope you revoke and grant again. You can revoke a consent at any moment with a single confirmation; the record isn't deleted, only marked revoked with a timestamp and the revoking user, so the full grant/revoke history is always visible as a consent ledger. The platform checks that a consent is still active twice: once when a share is requested, and again right before the data actually goes out — so revoking blocks even a transfer that was already in flight.
Fleet risk score
The risk score is a number from 0 to 100 (0 = lowest risk), computed monthly for the whole fleet and separately for each driver, from driver safety performance, hours-of-service compliance and the frequency of confirmed safety events over the period — each of the three components carries its own weight in the final number. The score card shows the methodology version, the period, a breakdown by component with links back to the source records (driver scores, violations, safety events), and a trend chart of past periods. If a period has no underlying data at all, no score is produced for it. A freshly computed score is published to insurers with an active consent for that category automatically; you can also request an immediate publication instead of waiting for the next cycle — the publish button is disabled when no active consent covers it.
Offers and claim packages
Offers from insurers with an active risk-score consent arrive automatically, priced off the fleet's latest risk score; the list is read-only, sorted by best discount and then lowest premium, with expired offers hidden by default. Separately, after an incident, an authorized user builds a claim package — a complete bundle for the adjuster covering a time window around the incident: the confirmed safety event with its recording, a telematics trace (position, speed, odometer), the driver's duty-status context, and vehicle and driver records. A package is built in one click from a confirmed safety event, or manually by entering the incident time and a vehicle or driver. Once built, a package is immutable; you share it onward through short-lived signed file links or a file export.
In the background
The risk score is recomputed every night for the fleet and for every driver, and the fresh score is then published to insurers with an active consent. The next nightly run pulls current offers from those same insurers. A genuinely new offer (not a refresh of an existing one) sends a notification to the finance controller and fleet manager, in-app and by email, at most once a day per offer.
