ESG and carbon footprint

The ESG module calculates the fleet's carbon footprint from actual fuel and charging transactions, adds an estimate for idle-time emissions and driving-style indicators, then compares it all against the previous period as a trend.

Who it's for

Available to the same roles as the rest of analytics: fleet manager, dispatcher, safety manager, finance controller, executive and organization administrator.

Emissions from fuel and energy

For the period you choose (7, 30, 90 or 365 days back), the module sums fuel litres by type (diesel, petrol, LPG, CNG and others) and converts them to kilograms of CO₂ using the configured emission factor for each fuel, plus separately the energy from EV charging — converted using the grid emission factor configured for the fleet's country. Both figures roll up into the period's total CO₂, also shown in tonnes.

Idling and eco-driving

From telematics data the module derives how long engines ran idle (ignition on, effectively stationary) and estimates the fuel burned, its cost and its emissions from that — a subset of fuel emissions, not an additional line added to the total. Separately, driving-style events from the safety module are counted: harsh braking, harsh acceleration and speeding, rolled up as an eco-driving indicator.

The period trend

Every period is automatically compared against the immediately preceding period of the same length, so you can see whether the carbon footprint is rising or falling. Emission factors are configurable and indicative — verify them against an authoritative source before any external disclosure; the report is not a statement of CSRD/GRI conformance.

In the background

This view computes its numbers live on every open — there is no separate nightly ESG snapshot. To deliver it on a recurring basis (e.g. monthly to the board), define an ESG- type report in the reports module and attach a schedule to it — the generated file carries the same categories and CO₂ total, tied to the same time window.
